It always takes a little while to catch up on FB and Johnny here was last seen on 22 February. It's possible that this is a female but it was not clear cut so it may yet grow into a male. It doesn't seem to be worried about the name! Good luck out there, buddy!
These three having been hanging out together for weeks being neighbours! Rosie turned out to be undecided, Logie is a boy and their friend is girl. Last seen on 20 February. They were all three lovely and fat and well prepared to learn to fish. Good luck, wee ones!
This juvenile is one of our precious females. We brought her into rehab in early February because she was a little on the light side for her moult. Turns out she had Malaria, so we were able to give her the right meds and she was released again once she was well to complete her moult in the colony.
A couple of late sponsorships for these two last seen on 12 February. Kowhai turned out to be a male and Nancy a female. One each! Good luck, you two!
These two turned out to be girls and this is their last photo. They had left for the big blue mid February and their parents Harry and Pompey have done a wonderful job raising them! Good luck, girls!
We get all sorts of names for our sponsored chicks and this one was handed out by child - could you guess? It's been a very recent sponsorship, so she hasn't featured before except that Bequette is her mother. She has a sibling, also now sponsored, called Bob who is in rehab and will feature here as part of his group in soft-release. Good luck, wee girl!
These three having been hanging out together for weeks now and this was the last time we saw them there waiting for their parents. Storm is a boy, Pebbles is a girl and Bamm Bamm is undecided at this stage but will likely grow into a boy. Good luck, kids!
This young male is going through his first moult and really looking the part half way though loosing and replacing his feathers. Soon he will be gorgeous again! He is moulting very close to where he grew up, only 30m or so where Shannon and Ewan are raising McCormick.
Sonic, Rubik, Jet and an so-far un-named chick are lining up nicely for their last meal in the soft-release pen. The gate was then opened and they were gone by the next morning (21 February). How well behaved are they! These two chicks have a sponsored mum now called Bitty - and boy has she done a good job this season. Pooyasha is a girl and TimTam is a boy, they are both looking fab and we last saw them on 24 February. They had taken up position close to the landing and have been watching the adults and juveniles come and go for weeks: a hop and a skip and they would have been on the beach and away. Good luck, you two!
