This is Goldenglitter and Penguin TJ's freshly sponsored chick. It is the first time this pair has managed to get their chick past the first couple of days after hatching - and now Honeycomb weighs 2.7kg

The trail camera was on this lovely family for a week and we were able to capture some lovely photos of family life, like here: feeding time.

This lucky chick was named by an whole school. They had decided to sponsor a box and called it Adventure Rangers. On receiving the photo with their box they spotted the chick - and apparently it was an instant hit! So now Hunu McWaddle is world famous at school! Odd Simen is keeping a watchful eye out for his precious offspring while Butterbell has gone fishing!

The hardest thing to learn

17/12/2022

Comments

Only humans and penguins walk upright in the same way, and for both it the hardest thing for the brain to learn: how to balance and move forward. Here Spencer and Ciara's chick wobbles about a bit but is getting the hang of this upright walking business.

These guys live in Nikita's nest 1, and there are two. One is more adventurous and wanders about and checks out things outside the box, and the other chick is inside the house, watching on.

Kuao

This is Bitty's chick - freshly sponsored. On this occasion, Bitty had just come home and greeted her mate, and they wandered off for a natter. She was back within a few minutes and fed Kuao, and all was well. They grow so fast at the moment, over the last couple of weeks Kuoa doubled his/her weight. That is quite the achievement, metabolising fish into penguin!!

Chicky's chick

14/12/2022

Comments

They moved back into Flipper Palace - but unfortunately the writing has come off. Chicky chucked out Bruce after they failed last season, and has a new and much younger mate. Since he has no experience at all, one chick is good and the wee fluff ball is well cared for and excellent weight.

She and her mate always start out so well, but then one chick dies. Fortunately the sibling seems to be trucking along just nicely, and at 25 days old and 1.6kg, that's not bad!

Molly and her toy boy mate are doing a fab job growing this chick - shouldn't be too hard since there is only one. Such devoted parents!
