Hello friends and family Time flies by when we are having fun and I don’t know where this week went! I picked up cousin Dan from the bus on Sunday evening and on Monday we went to the Hampden house and planted some Kowhai trees and had dinner with Elaine. On Tuesday, the team came and there was more tree planting at the Moeraki colony, then some track work at Katiki Beach. On Wednesday, it was Kakabeak at Hampden. The penguins are all out fishing at the moment, except for our hospital patient who is now treated for Malaria and putting on weight at a great rate. When you start at only 3.5 Kg, this does take a bit of time, but we expect him to go this week. On Thursday the team planted another 10 trees at the Moeraki colony and Dan and I went there later on to see penguins – there were more down the hill here ! On Friday we made a trip to Dunedin and then on Saturday morning Dan left on the bus. Elaine and Hiltrun came for the day and we worked on fallen trees at the Moeraki colony. The sun shone and it was a warm 13 degrees C. Still no penguins coming home early there!
Have a great week! Rosalie |
